The review
Home-routine review
A 30-minute review, on its own or inside a facial. Shantel goes through everything you use on your skin, in the order you use it.
- 01
Step 1: Bring it all
Lay out what you use, or bring photos of the labels.
- 02
Step 2: Say it in order
You tell her your morning, your night and your shower, step by step.
- 03
Step 3: Check each step
What each product does, where two overlap and what has stung before.
- 04
Step 4: Write it down
One page, in order, with the one change to try first.
What is checked
Four things Shantel looks for
The order
Some products go on better before others. A different order is sometimes the only change needed.
Overlap
Two cleansers, or two products with the same job, can leave skin dry and tight.
What stings or dries
Anything that burns, flakes or tightens after use is noted, with when you started it.
What you can leave out
A shorter routine is easier to keep. Shantel says which steps she'd drop first.
To bring
What to bring
Everything for your face
Morning and night products, and anything you use on your face in the shower.
Photos, if it's a lot
A photo of each label is enough, as long as the ingredients can be read.
A short history
What you've stopped using, and why. What you tried that stung.
Questions about the review
Do I have to buy anything?
No. The review is about what you already own. If Shantel suggests changing something, she tells you why and what to look for on a label, and you decide.
Can I book it on its own?
Yes. It's a 30-minute visit. It is also part of the third visit of the series, and can be added to any facial.
What if I use a product from my doctor?
Bring it, and tell us at booking. Shantel doesn't change anything a doctor has told you to use.
